Lake Geneva started as a retreat for wealthy industrialists from Chicago and   historically was focused on tourists from the surrounding areas of the city.

Today vacation rentals, and an abundance of lake related activities continue the influence of such transient activity.  

It is important to note there are actual full-time persons in residence.

Lake Geneva Community Foundation was founded with a vision of residents coming together to focus on developing and maintaining a unique sense of local community.

Our focus is on creating a mechanism that honors the past, and ensures a legacy for future generations. With a commitment to diverse well researched and executed community initiatives, historical preservation programs, and youth engagement projects, we strive to build a better future for Lake Geneva and its residents.
